Holly Rose Emery Drawing

Check out my Instagram!

I was scanning through Pinterest for something to draw and came across this picture of Holly Rose Emery. I find this picture to be very haunting and intriguing and immediately decided to draw it.

So, a bit about the model. Holly Rose Emery is 16 years old (like me), from the land of Kiwis. And very beautiful in my opinion, I can’t really start drawing someone if I don’t have some kind of crush on them, so yeah. The picture was taken by Nicole Bentley for Vogue Australia August 2013.

Here are some of my work in progress pictures.

1 3 4 5 6 7I usually do a very rough sketch to determine where everything is in general. And then I slowly correct things as I draw, I’m not one of those artist who have to have their sketch proportioned before starting to work, I wish I am but I’m not patient enough, haha.

Oh and don’t forget the reference picture! I usually set my reference picture to black and white for easier drawing.

My first OOTD!

This is my first Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) post! Yay!

This grey skater jersey dress is a bargain I got at a sales rack in Platinum Fashion Mall**, for 5$! The original dress comes with short sleeves and shoulder pads. Also, the bodice is less fitted. But the price was so good I decided to buy it and refashion it.The shoe is my favorite pair of kitten heels from a local brand, Paa*. Even though many people dislike kitten heels I adore them! They’re not too high and easy to walk in. And I love everything about this pair, the color, the height, the pointed toes and the simplicity of the design. Even though the price is a bit out of my budget but when compared with the number of times I wear it, it’s worth it. To top off the look I added a green cardigan from Zara. And the black purse is from Kate Spade that I got on sale (notice that I’m a huge fan of sales, haha) while in Hong Kong. I think it was a good bargain even though I spent my whole budget on it and could only afford to buy a bag of chocolates at the airport.

**Note: If you ever come to Thailand be sure to visit Platinum Fashion Mall! It’s a huge 6-storey shopping mall with 2 adjoining buildings and around 2,000 shops! Also, it’s the biggest wholesale mall in Thailand with clothing, shoes, accessories averaging from 10$-30$.

Hope you enjoy and if you do follow me!

Fashion Illustration: Sunflower Coat – Finished

So, I sketched this the other day because I couldn’t sleep and decide to color it with pastels and watercolor. As you can see I’m very obsessed with sunflowers right now… so you might see more of them in my work.

Also, I’m almost finish with my sophomore year, only 2 weeks left! I can’t believe it, I feel like it was just a few months ago that I became a high school student. Time flies by fast but I got to admit I’m pretty excited too! Because next year I won’t have to take anymore head-explodes-I-can’t-take-it-anymore  science, no more biology/chemistry/physics!!! And because I won’t be taking anymore science classes I should have loads more time to draw, paint and sew! YAY!!!

Hope you guys have a great week and take care! 🙂 ❤ Also if you like my work follow me for updates!

A Collab Photoshoot!

This actually was taken during October last year but I was busy with stuff and exams so I’m posting this now. First of all happy new year! ^U^ Hope everyone had a good vacation! (I envy you people whose country celebrate Christmas! I actually had my exams on christmas haha)

Since I’m so crappy with a camera I asked one of my classmate to photograph some of my garments for me. And what is a photoshoot without models, right? So I asked another two of my friends to model, and after some debate we decided to shoot in my neighborhood. So these are the photos!

All of us helped with hair and makeup…

Emmy was a bit shy at first…However Nukky got a good shot…

This is one of  the edited pictures. This was a dress I made when I was a freshman in high school. We actually planned to photograph another dress but in the end we didn’t have time. :’-(

The red dress is actually a skirt and a top. I wore the same outfit to my grade 11 homecoming party.

This is the dress I designed for Halloween, I actually finished it the night before the photoshoot XD

Last but not least is the Baby Blue dress.  This dress design is actually very simple (and maybe too simple .__.) and I think if I have time I’ll add some more details.

I hope I could update my blog more often but then my final exams are only a month away and homework is just too much _ _ Tomorrow’s my last day for New year break so I’ll finish what I’m sewing and hopefully I will find time to post it!

Halloween Sexy Long Dress

I didn’t have much time since I had so much work to do I didn’t update my blog for so long. This was actually from October .___. haha…

Since in Thailand halloween isn’t celebrated I never got much chance to dress up. Back in my old private school we would dress up to school in halloween costumes (instead of boring uniforms) and participate in the school’s halloween festival, which include the haunted house(which I remember was very scary) games booth, food booths, and all kind of contests. But I’m now in a government school (for 5 years already) so there’s no chance for any fun… However, for this halloween I wanted to make some kind of costume(even though in the end I didn’t get to wear it, haha).

The dress was inspired by the black widow spider, known for it’s venom and sexual cannibalism.I wanted to design a dress that would suit something like a black widow-human version. So my concept was sexy, alluring, a bit mysterious. In my original design I plan on using black as the base color and embroider red metallic thread for the spider web design on the shawl. In the end I didn’t have time so I ditched the shawl and made the dress only.

This is me trying the top on…

The beading detail…

The first fitting, I remember having to fix this dress a zillion times before it actually fits nicely over the body.

I didn’t take pictures when I was making the chiffon skirt because I forgot, haha. I guess I was concentrating so much I completely forgot… Also I was frustrated because my dress form broke for like the 4th time. (I just noticed that when it’s on dress form you can’t see the beading from the front. )

Conclusion: Took around 60 hours to complete. The fabric was actually cotton leftover from some school project though originally I wanted to use crepe. This was very lo budget since the fabric is free leftovers (except the chiffon) The beads were something I had around the house so I would estimate that I costed me around…350-400 baht or around 10-13 dollars ^^

Baby Blue Dress

This dress was made from light blue knit fabric. Took me around a day to make it 🙂
